Truck Protection Buyer's Guide
How to Protect a Truck You Actually Use
Carpet, bed floor, hood paint, storage, fenders — five things every working truck owner ends up wishing they'd protected sooner. Here's what actually solves each one.
Pull the carpet out of a truck that's seen a few years of real use and you'll understand immediately why floor protection exists. The same goes for a bed floor that's taken tools and equipment without a mat, or a hood that's been pitted by gravel and bugs on the interstate. None of this is dramatic — it's just the slow accumulation of damage that happens when a truck gets used the way it was built to be used. The five categories in this guide address five specific places that take that damage, with purpose-built solutions that fit your exact truck rather than something generic you have to cut to size.
Why exact fitment matters more than you'd think
Universal floor mats come with trim lines molded in. You're supposed to cut them down to fit. The problem is that once you cut, they no longer seal against the floor channels and door sills — mud and water get underneath, sit against the carpet, and cause the kind of damage the mat was supposed to prevent. Custom-molded liners are machined to the exact dimensions of your specific year, cab, and model. They seal. They stay put. And they're why every product in this guide lists year, make, model, and cab configuration: that specificity is the whole point.

Protecting the One Surface That Takes the Most Abuse
Heavy-duty rubber bed mats sized to exact bed lengths — short bed, long bed, and HD fitments for Silverado and Sierra.
Do you need a bed mat if you already have a spray-in liner?
A spray-in liner covers the walls and floor and bonds to the metal — great for corrosion protection, but the surface still gets chewed up by cargo dragging across it, and it does nothing to prevent sliding. A bed mat lays over the floor specifically to absorb impacts and grip cargo so it doesn't shift in transit. If you have a spray-in, a mat adds a second layer of protection where the actual work happens. If you don't have any liner at all, a mat is the fastest thing you can do to stop your bare bed floor from accumulating scratches, dents, and chemical damage.
